I can never tell which of my posts is going to do well. I just can’t figure out the art and science of a viral social media post. It’s mostly hit or miss for me.
However, here’s what I’ve learnt along the way.
Post what resonates with you.
Share what could be interesting to yourself and others.
Don’t force matters.
Don’t camp around a post waiting for likes and comments. Get on with your life!
Some posts are not going to cut it and that’s totally ok. You win some and you lose some.
Remember there’s another day.
You might have have better luck focusing on quality than trying to hit the jackpot with a viral post.
Check out content from others and see what’s working. What’s topical? What are people talking about? Can you join the conversation?
I have no problem asking someone to like or comment on a post. Sometimes that can be the spark to fire up a post on social media.
In some ways a viral post is like a hit in music. You never know what’s going to work until you get it out there.
Like and comment on posts in your own feed. This is a two-way street.
Don’t stress. It’s only social media.
